One person was seriously injured when a car crashed into a powerpole in Wellington early this morning.
Police said emergency services were called to the crash in at the corner of Russell Terrace and Mansfield Street in Newtown at about 2.30am.
One man was taken to Wellington Hospital by ambulance in a serious condition. Two others were also taken to hospital, however it is not believed they were badly hurt, a police spokesman said.
No other vehicles were involved and it is not known whether alcohol was a factor.
The Fire Service also attended.
