A McDonald's restaurant in Auckland became a drive-through with a difference when a car crashed into a window by a seating area this morning.
McDonald's spokesman Simon Kenny said the driver was a customer who hit the accelerator instead of the brake as she pulled into the carpark at the Wairau outlet, drove over the kerb and hit the building about 7.45am.
"Fortunately it was a quiet time - breakfast time is pretty quiet - so there were no customers in the area where the glass broke.''
Mr Kenny said staff alerted emergency services.
A 65-year-old woman was treated for minor injuries but not taken to hospital. No one else was injured, St John Ambulance spokesman Norm Ngatai said.
