Two people escaped serious injury when their car went down a bank on Piha Rd, near Piha, at about 11.50pm yesterday.
The pair managed to extricate themselves from the vehicle which plunged about 10m down the bank near the popular west Auckland beach, Jaron Philips of the Fire Service northern communications centre said.
The two people were uninjured, and did not need medical treatment.
No arrests were made.
