A man who died after his car crashed off a bridge and plunged down to a car park below has been named by police.
Urenui man Andrew Maurice John Warren, 40, crashed his car on Vivian St in New Plymouth about 2.40am yesterday.
The car busted through a bridge barrier and fell 5m to the car park below. No one else was involved in the crash.
Police yesterday said the cause of the crash was not yet known.
Investigations by Taranaki police and the police serious crash unit were continuing today.
