A man has been arrested after a car-load of men carrying weapons "set upon" a house in Rotorua's Tania Cres after a dispute about stereo noise.
Detective George Staunton of the Rotorua CIB said between midnight and 9am this morning the Tania Cres house was visited three times by the same group complaining about the stereo noise. Each time threats of violence escalated.
He said a blue four-door sedan and a light coloured Honda or similar vehicle were seen to leave the address this morning before police arrived.
Mr Staunton said the blue sedan was seen travelling along Steeles Lane towards Clayton Rd while the light coloured Honda was seen travelling to Cherrywood Pl.
A 34-year-old man is expected to appear in the Rotorua District Court tomorrow facing a charge of possession of an offensive weapon.
