Car kills man during rugby club brawl

A brawl at the Otahuhu Rugby Club rooms that spilled out on to the streets left a man dead after he was struck by a car late last night.

The driver fled after hitting the man on Great South Rd, but was later found by police. Great South Rd was closed for several hours after the accident, which tied up all available police units in South Auckland.

Police believe the fight involved many people and started in Awa St.
