A male has serious injuries after the car he was in flipped in Mahia in Hawke's Bay.
He has been taken to Wairoa Hospital, a St John ambulance spokeswoman said.
The crash happened on Kaiwaitau Rd about 8.45pm, a police spokeswoman said.
The incident follows a horror 24 hours on New Zealand roads - five people were killed in four separate crashes on Friday afternoon and evening.
