A car has flipped on the main street of Te Kuiti but it appears the driver and passenger escaped relatively unscathed.
An eyewitness to the crash at 3.40pm said the people-mover van was heading south along Rora St when it appeared to hit a curb at a four-way intersection with Lawrence St, Awakino Rd and Waitete Rd.
"I saw him hit something and then the car rolled. He wasn't going fast. He braked and then hit."
The woman, who did not want to be named, said a man and woman, possibly in their 40s, got out of the car with a sore back and arm respectively but otherwise appeared uninjured.
She said before they could offer help a group of men at the nearby Te Tokanganui a Noho Marae went to the aid of the motorists.
