Car drives off after hitting child near Dunedin school

Police are searching for a person after reports they drove off after hitting a child with their vehicle outside a Dunedin school this afternoon.

A police spokeswoman said soon after 3pm someone reported a child being hit on Macandrew Rd, near Bathgate Park School.

The child was uninjured.

It seemed as though the car drove off afterwards, she said.

Police had "good information" on the car and would be following it up, she said.
