A 41-year-old father who was caught doing car "burnouts" and "doughnuts" when picking his son up from a party is now facing 40 hours of community work.
Scott Paul Bannister pleaded guilty to causing sustained loss of traction when he appeared in the Whanganui District Court on Tuesday.
On Sunday, November 5, Police were called to a party of around 150 people when they encountered Bannister doing 360-degree turns in his vehicle and burnouts towards a crowd of young people about 30 to 40 metres away.
Bannister said the kids in the back seat of his car were asking him to do it.
"It was a silly mistake that happened when I was picking my son up from a party."
