A car mounted the pavement and struck stunned a diner before ploughing into a Titirangi café tonight.
The driver then reversed from the wrecked wall of the Hardware Café and fled the scene. He was being sought by police last night.
A customer was taken to Waitakere Hospital with a dislocated knee injuries, a café staff member said.
The car 'came out of nowhere' according to eyewitnesses, and crashed into the café where about a dozen diners were eating on a balmy Auckland evening.
