KEY POINTS:
A West Auckland family had a late-night shock yesterday when a car crash landed upside-down on their front lawn.
Police say the car skidded around 100m, crashed through a small stone wall, continued through a fence, and finally came to a stop upside-down in the New North Rd property.
Police at the scene said they believed the car may have been racing another vehicle shortly before 10pm, and lost control after turning a corner.
It was unclear how many occupants were in the vehicle at the time, but St John ambulance confirmed one person was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
