People are trapped in a car after it crashed off a bank in Murupara early this evening.
A St John spokeswoman said crews were still on their way to the scene at Ngatimanawa Rd.
Inspector Shawn Rutene said it was unclear how many people were trapped in the vehicle on Ngatimanawa Rd.
The crash was the second incident today in the small Bay of Plenty town, 60km east of Rotorua.
Rutene said four people were in custody after another car crashed into the garage of a home on Pine Dr earlier this afternoon.
