A teenager is in a serious condition after suffering a spinal injury when he was head tackled during a rugby game in Thames.
An Auckland Rescue Helicopter was called to Thames on Saturday at 12.12pm where a 17-year-old man's chin had collided into an opposing player's chest while running.
He was flown to Middlemore Hospital in a serious condition.
On Friday, another teen suffered injuries as a result of an accident while playing rugby in Rotorua.
He was flown via a Westpac Rescue Helicopter to Starship Hospital.
