Canterbury has been shaken by three large aftershocks overnight, all in the Darfield area.
Quakes of magnitude 4.2, 4.4 and 4.2 struck at 11.09pm, 6.17am and 6.29am respectively. All were within a 30km radius of Darfield and at a depth of 5km, GeoNet reported.
