A 23-year-old man accused of leading police on a 50km rampage across North Canterbury and Christchurch yesterday has been remanded in custody.
Kyle James Clarke, a 23-year-old from Geraldine, South Canterbury, appeared in Christchurch District Court this morning.
He faces six charges, including reckless driving on the Northern Motorway, failing to stop for police, driving while forbidden, a burglary at Amberley, being found without reasonable excuse in an enclosed yard, and taking a Nissan Safari valued at $5000 from Waikuku.
Duty lawyer Steve Hembrow made no application for bail.
Judge John Strettell remanded Clarke in custody without plea until September 29.
