Police have named the man who died in a crash on the Rakaia River Bridge in Canterbury yesterday.
Tofamamao Afia, a 21-year-old Samoan living in Timaru, was killed when a northbound truck and trailer unit carrying two tractors collided with a southbound car and a ute at around 4.40pm.
Police said Mr Afia's family living in Samoa, Christchurch and Auckland had been informed and were arranging his funeral.
The other two drivers involved in the crash have been released from hospital and enquiries into the cause of the crash were continuing, said police.
