Canterbury crash closes road until lunch time

A vehicle has crashed into a power pole, taking down powerlines and closing a road in Canterbury this morning.
The NZ Transport Agency in Canterbury warned motorists about 8am of the crash on Brittan Tce between Lyttelton and Governors Bay.
The road is expected to be closed until about midday,
transport authorities said.
Christchurch Transport said Brittan Terrace was expected to be partially open, operating under a stop/go system, by about 12.30pm.
Police said the driver was not trapped.
