A Canadian man has been charged over the death of a Canadian woman in a T-bone collision in eastern Waikato.
The 50-year-old man is to appear in Thames District Court today charged with careless driving causing death, Sergeant Jim Corbett said.
Police this morning identified the woman killed in the crash as 46-year-old Catherine Elizabeth Clarke, of British Columbia.
Ms Clarke was the passenger in the 50-year-old's car and suffered fatal injuries in the crash at the intersection of State Highways 25 and 2 about 1.30pm on Thursday.
"Waikato Police would like to express their sympathies to Ms Clarke's family and friends for their loss in these tragic circumstances," Mr Corbett said.
