A new campaign hoping to empower people to vote this election will hit TV screens tonight.
The Electoral Commission is concerned about a a growing trend of people saying they don't feel their vote is worth anything, or that their opinion matters.
Chief Electoral Officer Robert Peden says we're lucky to live in a strong democracy, where we all get to play a part.
"So this campaign's about New Zealanders talking about why voting matters, why it's important to them and why everybody should take part, make sure they're enrolled and have their say."
Mr Peden says no matter who we are, where we live, or where we're from, we are all equal on election day.
