Trust and duct tape were allied at the annual Wairarapa College Prefects' Camp at Tauherenikau.
Prefects from the school completed activities at the camp this term that centred on working together and trusting their peers, including being duct taped to a wall so they couldn't move.
There were 28 prefects at the camp this year and the group spent three days learning about their role within the school community, listening to guest speaker artist Dame Robyn White and members of college senior management, abseiling and river rafting, and cooking for the entire camp.
Guidance counsellor Deanne Littlejohn says a highlight of the camp came when the prefects shared with each other about leaders in their own lives that have had a significant impact, or leaders they know of that hold special meaning for them.
She said the camp was about preparing the prefects for the role they play in the school.
