WAIRARAPA Motor Cycle Club Camden Butler, 6, took out the Mini North Island motocross championships at Rotorua last weekend.
And as if that wasn't enough, his mate Sam Guise, 5, from the same club, finished up third overall.
Both boys ride CRF Honda 50s under Langlands sponsorship in the 4 - 5 year class.
On Saturday Camden recorded two wins, hotly pursued by Taupo rider Xavier McBrydie and Sam, who remounted and finished race two after crashing and bruising his cheek.
On Sunday, Camden won the first but fell in the second race, being passed by the whole field. He remounted and charged through to third place, which gave him the title by six points.
Sam finished in second place on day two after another battle with Xavier, the latter taking a first in the last race, just holding Sam out for second overall.
The boys are now looking forward to the New Zealand championships in Tokoroa in November, where they hope to be back on the podium again.
Camden and Sam also earned themselves a day off school on Monday, but yesterday went along bearing their trophies, ribbons and caps, plus some pretty choice news to tell their classmates.
