A "very excited" caller has contacted the Lotteries Commission, believing themselves to be winner of a nearly $11 million Lotto prize.
The commission took the call this morning, spokeswoman Karen Jones said.
"But as far as we're concerned the prize hasn't yet been officially claimed, because obviously they need to decide whether they're going to claim in their town...or else they do have the option of coming to Wellington as well."
The winning ticket was sold at Dunedin's Paper Plus in the Golden Centre Mall.
Valued at $10,845,530, it was the biggest amount won from a Dunedin store, Ms Jones said.
The prize money was made up of a first division win of $1,059,968 and a Powerball jackpot of $9,785,562.
The caller was concerned their privacy was protected, but was "very excited", Ms Jones said.
