Police are appealing for witnesses after a 21-year-old New Plymouth woman was dragged off the street and sexually assaulted early yesterday.
The woman was grabbed from behind by a man while walking along Frankley Road, between Clawton and Waimea streets, about 4am yesterday.
"She was pushed into a nearby walkway and sexually assaulted," Detective Sue Ashton told Taranaki Daily News.
The woman was treated in hospital and discharged.
Ms Ashton asked anyone who was in the area or had information on the attack to contact police.
