The high-profile custody dispute over baby Caitlin Jelicich returned to the Family Court yesterday for a hearing to determine if custody should be decided in New Zealand or Wales.
Stephen Jelicich and his estranged wife, Diane, have been sharing custody of Caitlin while court proceedings are under way.
The child custody case, which would normally be shrouded in secrecy, was made public when Mr Jelicich went on the run with his daughter in mid-January.
The Family Court took the rare step of releasing details of the case.
Mr Jelicich wants custody decided in New Zealand, but Mrs Jelicich wants Caitlin returned to Britain, her place of birth, for the Welsh courts to decide.
The British Government invoked the Hague Convention, an international treaty that aims to return children involved in custody disputes to their country of "habitual residence" so custody can be determined there.
Media were yesterday allowed in court but could not report the proceedings.
Judge Sarah Fleming said she would make her decision public.
