The owner and manager of Howick's Cafe Hasan Baba, which caught fire after a gas explosion, are to appear in the Manukau District Court next week charged with blowing the building up.
The incident woke hundreds of nearby residents when the explosion blew debris and furniture into the air at 3am on February 17.
Police investigating the fire have charged Antonio Carlos, 29, and Khalida Husen, 28, with intentionally damaging the building using an explosive.
They have also laid five other charges against the pair, which relate to an insurance claim and other allegations.
