Food safety officers have given the controversial Piha Cafe the all-clear.
A fortnight ago the Herald on Sunday reported the cafe, which opened after a three-year legal wrangle, received a D rating after Waitakere City Council inspectors found inadequate cleaning.
This has been resolved but the cafe will have to display its D grade until June 12 because regrading can't take place until two months after the assessment.
However, a timber-framed veranda and roof at the back of the cafe does not have resource consent. The cafe will have to remove it or obtain retrospective consent.
