A cable failure during maintenance work at an Auckland substation left 1500 homes in the Freemans Bay area without power for several hours yesterday.
The power outage, at 9.36am, came on one of the coldest mornings of the year in Auckland. Traffic lights and businesses were also affected. Power was restored by 12.43pm.
