Contentious North Canterbury schooner the MV Tuhoe could soon move to Auckland.
The 97-tonne kauri vessel, the subject of a bitter tug-of-love for two years, has caught the attention of a buyer from Auckland.
The schooner is owned by Kaiapoi's Cure Boating Club but has been looked after by enthusiasts at the Tuhoe Preservation Society, which ran pleasure trips on the Kaiapoi River. The groups fell out over money.
