Butcher murder accused in court

A West Coast butcher charged with murdering his wife last month reappeared in Greymouth District Court yesterday.

Peter Lamont, 47, entered no plea to murdering Lindsay Jane Lamont and was further remanded until September 29.

Mrs Lamont's body was found at the family home in Ikamatua, 54km northeast of Greymouth after Lamont turned himself in to Greymouth police station on July 5.

The couple moved to the West Coast from Scotland in 2005.
