Ariana Moyle has suffered from epilepsy for most of her 13 years - but the Aucklander hasn't let it get in the way.
She plays hockey, rides horses and goes swimming, and says Epilepsy New Zealand makes life a lot easier.
"They do activities for people with epilepsy so we can meet other people."
Ariana says a lack of funding for the organisation would hit her and her friends hard.
Her mother Susan says they provide much more than activities.
"When you first find out your child has something like that, the health professionals are really great but they just don't have the time to sit down and go through things.
"The association field officers will sit with people for as long as they need and that's really important."
Busy getting on with life despite epilepsy
