KEY POINTS:
The 50-year-old business owner accused of stabbing a South Auckland teenager who had been out tagging fences will reappear in court on Thursday.
Bruce William Emery, of Manurewa, appeared in the Manukau District Court yesterday charged with the murder of Pihema Clifford Cameron, 15, also of Manurewa, who was fatally stabbed in Southview Place about 11.30pm on Saturday.
Pihema's violent death was the 10th this year and the second in South Auckland in two days after the fatal stabbing of Krishna Naidu, 22, who was attacked on Friday while working in his parents' dairy in Clendon.
Emery's court appearance was before a Justice of the Peace because of the Auckland Anniversary Day public holiday.
Because of the serious charge he faces, Emery will have to appear before a judge before a decision can be made on whether he will be granted bail.
Police cordons prevented access to the crime scene at Southview Place in Manurewa on Sunday, and Emery's Mahia Rd home, just 200m from the street, was also examined by police.
Security guards were at the home as a police photographer worked inside one of three garages on the bottom level of the two-storey home.
Signs out the front advertised "Mahia Covers", a business that appears to sell covers for spa pools and for horses.
Emery's sister said on Sunday that her brother's wife and three children were shattered.
