A Christchurch businessman had admitted seven charges of having unlawful sexual connection with a 15-year-old girl.
The man admitted the charges at a pre-trial conference session before Judge Michael Crosbie in the Christchurch District Court today, and was remanded on bail for sentence on November 27.
Defence counsel Jonathan Eaton asked that name suppression continue until the sentencing for the 38-year-old man, but he said the application would not be renewed after that.
Judge Crosbie granted the order.
The offending was committed over two periods early last year, and the charges were representative, meaning the offences occurred more than once.
The Crown had not gone ahead with some of the charges that were laid by police when the man was first arrested exactly a year ago.
He had also been charged with threatening to kill the girl and another woman, and unlawfully detaining the teenager.
