Buses will get their own transit lane on the upper half of the Queen St hill in central Auckland next week, when parking will be outlawed between 3pm and 7pm each weekday.
Auckland City Council says the new outbound bus lane, starting at Turner St and ending up the hill just short of the Karangahape Rd intersection, will be in place by next Thursday.
Cyclist and motorbikes can use the lane but motorists risk a $150 fine.
