KEY POINTS:
A bus carrying about 25 people has crashed on State Highway 1 at Tokoroa.
One person is critical, three others have serious injuries and another four or five have minor injuries.
The Ambulance Service is taking patients to Tokoroa Hospital, and helicopters are flying the most badly hurt on to Waikato Hospital.
It is not known if any other vehicles were involved.
A number of people were earlier believed to be trapped in the bus.
The crash happened at Tar Hill between Campbell Rd and Kinleith Rd and diversions are in place.
