Negotiations over pay and conditions for more than 870 Auckland bus drivers and cleaners have been referred to a Labour Department mediator after stalling without even getting into first gear on Thursday.
A mediation session is understood to have been arranged for the week after next, after arguments between Infratil subsidiary NZ Bus and a negotiating team from four unions over the presence of union observers at the bargaining table.
