A bus driver charged with two counts of grooming a boy under 16 has lost his fight for name suppression.
Donald Peter McPherson, 58, appeared in the Rotorua District Court yesterday. He has not entered pleas to two charges relating to allegations on two different dates last month.
McPherson appeared in court on Wednesday and was granted name suppression until yesterday when his lawyer Annette Sykes argued for it to continue on the grounds there was a presumption of innocence at this stage of the proceedings.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Jim Broom opposed name suppression continuing.
Mr Broom said McPherson had been assessed and no psychological issues had been identified.
