Go Bus says it is extremely disappointed one of its Hawkes Bay drivers is being investigated for drink driving on duty.
Police are awaiting blood test results before considering charges against the driver, who was pulled over for a breath test around 5.45pm yesterday.
Passengers on board had become concerned about his driving as he was ferrying six people between Napier and Hastings.
Go Bus commercial director Craig Worth is in Hawkes Bay today to investigate, he says the driver has been stood down from duty and Go Bus may look into disciplinary action against the driver.
Mr Worth says the company will make a formal statement once it knows all the facts of the case.
