A 45-year-old bus driver has been charged with failing to stop and ascertain injury after a pedestrian was fatally hit by a vehicle in Auckland last month.
Police launched an investigation after Chinese visitor Rongfa Jiang, 53, was hit on Dominion Road, Mount Eden, on April 18.
Today they said the driver, from the Auckland suburb of Favona, would appear in Auckland District Court on June 18.
He could face up to five years in prison or a $20,000 fine and lose his license for up to a year.
Mr Jiang had been living with a family member in Mt Eden for some months before his death.
