Bus crashes into property

A bus driver was taken to hospital today after his bus crashed into a property on Auckland's North Shore, narrowly missing a house, police said.

The driver was the only person on board and was travelling from Birkenhead to Beach Haven when the accident happened at Rangatira Rd. He received a minor injury.

Police, who were alerted at 6.25am, said they had yet to speak to the man to find out the cause of the crash.

Motorists were told to expect delays in the area this morning during an operation to salvage the bus.
