Carterton District Council management is getting the job done when it comes to building consents.
The council has recently been congratulated on its handling of building control functions by accreditation firm IANZ.
Overall it was pleased with the way in which the building consent authority was functioning, issuing a total of four corrective action requests, all of which will be cleared by mid-August.
There has been a significant drop in the number of building consents processed this year compared with last year.
This year 263 consents were processed with a total value of $22.4 million compared with 319 consents with a building value of $27.3 million last year.
