A Remuera apartment block and a Bay of Islands cliff-top property were among the winners at an awards evening recognising the Auckland region's best builders.
The Auckland Registered Master Builders 2006 House of the Year and RMB Commercial Project Awards were announced at SkyCity on Saturday night.
Hawkins Construction Limited won the gong for Commercial Project of the Year after completing the Oakridge apartment complex in Remuera.
The development features 27 different floor plans, including three large penthouses, two combined apartments and a garden apartment.
Lindsay Construction won the PlaceMakers supreme award for House of the Year for its cliff-top home in Russell, Bay of Islands.
The house is built mainly of steel, concrete and glass, with a copper roof, and features granite floors and a temperature-controlled wine cellar.
There were 52 gold award winners, 52 silver award winners and nine bronze awards announced during the evening.
The best 100 gold reserve award finalists from around the country will progress to the national competition.
The national winners will be announced on October 28.
