Jennian Homes Wairarapa staff have built a stunning play house in their free time and will donate it to the Masterton Host Waipoua Lions Club to raffle next year - after it features in this year's Christmas parades.
Managing director Gareth Norris said he had the idea for the project
a few years ago and it was great to finally get it under way.
Although the house is nearly complete with a deck, sink and table, the builders were still to attach the spouting and add some synthetic grass.
Mr Norris said the project was a fun way to give back to the community and he estimated the building to be worth between $4000 and $5000.
"The great thing about that is not only will they raise money for a charity but a Wairarapa family is to end up with this house for the price of a raffle ticket," he said.
