Council contractors will tomorrow demolish two units damaged by subsiding land at Bucklands Beach in east Auckland.
The Clovelly Rd units were first affected by slipping in September last year, and further movement this month prompted the Manukau City Council to enforce safety cordons in the area.
The council said contractors had undertaken preparatory work at 116 Clovelly Rd today and would demolish units 2 and 3 tomorrow.
The site and the foreshore below the slip were considered dangerous, and the public was being urged to stay away.
Five units, including one belonging to former Manukau Mayor Barry Curtis, have been damaged by the slip and deemed uninhabitable.
