The Government believes New Zealand drivers aren't ready to moderate their drinking. We know they are. So take responsibility for keeping our roads safe by signing up: Two Drinks Max.

This country's drink-driving limit is 80mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood - the same as Britain and the United States - but Australia and most of Europe use a limit of 50mg per 100ml, also referred to as a 0.05 limit.
Only Parliament can change the law. But we can help change attitudes. Our campaign will encourage people to regulate themselves, and to not drive if they've had more than two drinks.
Model Nicky Watson explains why she is supporting the Two Drinks Max campaign:
Do you support lowering the drink driving limit to 50 mg?
Absolutely.
So will to you pledge your name to the HOS campaign?
Yes I would.
Why do you support lowering the limit?
Because it is clear that we need to there are still so many accidents on the road and from my own personal experience if I had two glasses of wine I wouldn't drive.
Why is it important to get behind this campaign?
To save New Zealanders lives and families. There are so many accidents and most of them are caused by drinking and driving.
Have you or your friends or family been involved in a drink driving crash or been a victim of one?
My brother has been. It was in Australia. He was in the passenger seat
and was slumped in his seat but the other people in the vehicle went under a truck and were decapitated. The driver of the car was drunk. My brother was so lucky to live - all his teeth were smashed he was a mess.
