The father of murder victim Scott Guy is keeping his distance from a private investigation into his son's death.
Bryan Guy told the Herald on Sunday he had not been consulted. Dairy farmer Scott was shot dead in July 2010 in the driveway of his Feilding home. Scott's brother-in-law, Ewen Macdonald, who had helped run the family farm, was found not guilty of the murder earlier this year.
Scott's widow, Kylee, has teamed up with the Sensible Sentencing Trust to enlist the services of private investigators to uncover new evidence.
"It's not that I'm not supportive of it," Bryan Guy said. "They haven't approached me at all. We don't want to get false hopes but, if there is something thing new found, obviously we would want to know about it. I suppose I'm neutral."
Guy said he expected to be interviewed by the private eyes. He and his wife Jo still got along fine with their daughter-in-law Kylee.
