Police are calling on the public for information about a "brutal" assault on a teenager in the Waikato overnight.
Police and St John ambulance staff were called to Boundary St in Te Aroha about 10.30pm.
On arrival they found a 16-year-old male who had been assaulted by a group four men.
"The victim was taken to Waikato Hospital with a variety of head injuries and bruising to his body and has since been discharged today," said Detective Sergeant Dean Anderson.
One 16-year-old Te Aroha local was arrested at the scene and will appear in the Hamilton Youth Court today.
