Earthquake Recovery Minister Gerry Brownlee has ordered an inquiry into the Earthquake Commission's client satisfaction surveys after it emerged the commission steered clear of asking some disgruntled clients for their views.
An Auditor-General's report this week on the commission's performance in dealing with homeowners cited a survey which found one in five were dissatisfied.
However internal documents subsequently emerged showing some clients files were marked with "do not survey" instructions.
Mr Brownlee yesterday said he was "very concerned and quite annoyed about it".
"I've asked the State Services Commissioner to conduct a full inquiry and he'll be reporting to me in the next couple of days on how that's going to be progressed."
