KEY POINTS:
Two brothers charged after a fight at Auckland's Selwyn College, sparking a major police response, have been ordered by a court to stay away from the school.
The brothers, aged 16 and 15, from suburban St Johns, were remanded on bail when they appeared in Auckland Youth Court today.
Both were charged with disorderly behaviour likely to cause violence. The 15-year-old was also charged with assaulting a policeman, while the 16-year-old also faced charges of resisting arrest and fighting in a public place.
The bail conditions stipulate they must reside at a St Johns address between 9am and 3pm unless accompanied by a parent or guardian, and they must not go within 50m of Selwyn College.
The charges follow a fight which started at Selwyn College on Tuesday.
The school's canteen manager was allegedly knocked to the ground when trying to stop the fight and a police officer was also allegedly assaulted.
The first police officer to arrive called for help and at least 10 police cars and paddy wagons arrived, after which the boys were arrested.
The students, who cannot be named as they appeared in Youth Court, were due to reappear on May 31.
Police were due to speak to a third student in connection with the incident this afternoon.
