The brother and a friend of the man who killed liquor store owner Navtej Singh have been sentenced for their part in an aggravated robbery of a tinnie house a day before the fatal shooting.
Anitelea Chan Kee, 21, his brother, Ameto Chan Kee, 24, and their friend Misiona Tia robbed the house in Randwick Park, Manurewa, of drugs and a brown jacket, believing it contained cash, during the early hours of June 6, 2008.
The next day, Anitelea Chan Kee shot Mr Singh during an aggravated robbery of his Riverton Liquor Store, also in Manurewa.
Last year, he admitted aggravated robbery of the tinnie house.
Ameto Chan Kee and Tia pleaded guilty in March to aggravated robbery before their trial began.
They were sentenced in the High Court at Auckland today. Tia was jailed for two years seven months, and Ameto Chan Kee was jailed for two years one month.
Anitelea Chan Kee was jailed for life with a minimum non-parole period of 17 years in the High Court at Auckland in May after being found guilty of Mr Singh's murder.
Father-of-three Mr Singh was shot in the chest during the robbery and died the following day.
